Message From Archie Griffin - President and CEO Dear Alumni Association Member,
I have some exciting news to share with you. Ohio State’s board of trustees approved an affiliation agreement today that will more closely align the Alumni Association with the university. The Association will remain a member-based organization; and by working in new ways with the university, we will expand our reach.
The agreement was unanimously approved by the Alumni Association board of directors in January, after a year-long study of best practices in alumni engagement among leading public and private universities. You’ll be asked to vote in March on changes to our constitution that reflect this new relationship.
We’ll have more coverage of the change in the March/April edition of Ohio State Alumni Magazine. In the meantime, please see my video message about your membership.
Our vision is to be the biggest and best member-centered alumni association in the world. Through this partnership with the university, I believe we will bring even greater value to alumni, friends, and fans everywhere.
Sincerely, Archie Griffin President and CEO

First Time Home Buyers 101
Are you at the point where you are ready to buy your first home? Many feel that they can’t afford it or don’t have the money to put down right now but you may be surprised to learn that getting into that first home isn’t as difficult or costly as you may think. Come join us for an informative evening on how to buy your first home. On hand will be a Realtor from William Raveis Real Estate, Home Insurance Agent, Real Estate Attorney, and a mortgage lender. Each of these individuals will explain how they relate in the buying process and why now is a great time to be out there looking. Among the items that will be discussed is the first time home buyer tax credit, finding the perfect home for you, negotiating to get the right price and the buying timeline. Should you choose, you will be able to get a credit score, a pre-approval and see homes that are currently on the market that meet your search criteria. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to help educate yourself on what to expect and how this exciting process works. This event is ideal for anyone who is serious about starting a search and for those who still may be a year or two away. Space is limited and the event if free. We look forward to seeing you there!
